Nissan’s NISMO Racing Team Takes On Action

At Kelly Nissan, our Chicago Nissan dealer, we’re excited to cheer on Nissan’s professional road racing team this weekend as they take on a rare twin bill! The Pirelli World Challenge series and the IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge are taking place this weekend. These drivers will be visiting two of America’s prettiest and most challenging road racing circuits.

Road America and Watkins Glen

NISMO athlete and 2011 GT Academy winner Bryan Heitkotter and his teammate James Davison look to continue their strong performances in their Always Evolving Nissan GT-R GT3 NISMOs at some of the best tracks in North America. This is sure to be an even that Orland Park Nissan fans should be excited about!

“At the beginning of the season, we figured Road America would be one of the strongest tracks for the GT-R,” said Rick Kulach, Nissan North America Motorsports Manager. “The car should excel on the long straights and high-speed corners at this track. The way this team is coming together and making improvements, I am confident we can get a good result in all three races this weekend.”

2016 Nissan 370Z in Chicago

In addition, the Doran Racing’s Nissan 370Z NISMOs will try to extend their recent successes at Watkins Glen in upstate New York as they attempt to take on the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge race on Saturday. The #14 car will be driven by GT Academy winners and teammates Steve Doherty and Nick McMillen.

“I am super excited to be back with the Doran team at another great track,” said Illinois native Doherty. “Our cars are very strong here, and I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel for the second time this season. Nick and I will make a good team, and we should do well here at Watkins Glen.”
